This is an extremely rare guitar! It is a beautiful 1891 Martin 00-42. Beautiful Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with an Adirondack Spruce top. The action is perfect and the sound is beautiful and rich with lots of sustain and balance. It is light as a feather and just an honor to hold and play. The bridge and saddle and tuning pegs (friction grip) are of Ivory. This was the largest guitar made at the time it was created and has the 42 Abalone perfling on the top with full grained iveroid binding. This guitar is truly extraordinary! It also comes with its original carved leather case. It lives in a new more solid case to take better care. This guitar has 3 well repaired cracks in the top. 130 years old!!!! Plays like a 10 year old but sounds like it has had 130 years of practice being a guitar
The frets are close to unplayed! The saddle height above the bridge is 1/8 inch and the action is just right. This guitar plays like a dream!!Thanks for stopping to look at it!
